STOP THE FOREST FIRES! Campfires may be a fun summer activity but if they are left unsupervised and go against existing burn bans then they can cause disaster. Along with campfires being a danger to forests, people leaving their cigarette buds still burning on the forest floor during the hot, dry months of the summer can lead to the forest catching on fire.

A SAFER COMMUNITY. On March 6, Seika Brown, Natalie Fortes, Yennie Jun, Hadassah Klienger, and Maverick Mendoza went to Olympia to advocate for a bill to create safer environments for students and employees in high stress jobs. They spoke to state legislators about suicide prevention tactics and educated on mental health. By strengthening emotional wellbeing, and opening the conversation of mental health, we can fortify our suicide prevention measures and build a safer community for all.

As the field grows, more and more female students get involved and greater access to courses serves and a stepping off point for possible future software engineers to discover their interests.
