Over the past two weeks, flooding has made a devastating impact on the Pacific Northwest’s rivers, roads and households. The flood watch which was issued Mon. 12/18 is still an extremely prevalent threat for citizens who live on the western side of Washington. This week within the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall has led the White River Levee to fail causing a level 3 “go now” evacuation warning to be issued. With floodwaters in Issaquah continuing to rise, the Issaquah Creek has reached a historic height in the past week, and currently stands at a height of 5.14 feet. Surrounding areas such as the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery are preparing sandbags to protect their hatchery and fish. This rapidly developing story can change within an instant, so make sure to stay up updated and be safe!
