For the past week, rainfall in Issaquah, and all across the Seattle area, has been relentlessly battering the community. Waters are rising, and many are beginning to fear for their safety. The Front Street bridge was closed off as of the morning of Thursday, December 11th 2025 due to dangerously high water in the river below and a small lake of standing water. The flooding has also closed down I-90, as it has been deemed to risky to drive through the rapidly pooling water. Because of this, traffic throughout Issaquah and the Seattle Area has been diverted, making commutes difficult. The Sycamore neighborhood at the base of Squak Mountain is flooded from the Issaquah Creek, causing many residents to drive through a pre set flood escape trail. This is not an isolated issue, as many other low elevation homes and neighborhoods are threatened by rising waters. Our community has already weathered many storms, such as last years Bomb Cyclone, so our community knows well how to handle extreme weather. Together, we can work through this too.
