Issaquah Boys’ Varsity Tennis won 6 to 1 versus Eastlake last night. This dominant performance from Issaquah keeps them in second place in the Kingco conference, just behind Newport, with one game left to play. With big wins coming from seniors Kobe Sarausad and Richard Jia in solo matches, as well as seniors James Adkins and Sebastian Antezana pulling out with a victory in their doubles match, they appear to being doing quite well. “I’ve only played with James once before. We adapted well to each other and were able to overcome our opponents in the end,” said Antezana after his match.

This win marks Issaquah’s fourth win in a row, and they are looking to continue that streak at their next match at Skyline on Tuesday. Regarding the upcoming match, Coach Patrick Nam says, “Skyline’s a school rival. We always try to make that match as competitive as possible.… They’ve always completed with us very well… but we’re going try our best, going to play hard, and hopefully we’ll come out on top.”

After watching all the matches unfold, spectator and senior Kaleb Aho said, “The atmosphere during the matches is playful yet intense, and each player plays with so much precision and accuracy; it’s amazing.”

Issaquah’s last match of the season is Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 3:45 p.m. at Skyline High School where they look to end the season with five wins in a row.
