Naomi Wu, Staff Writer
Naomi Wu serves as a first-year staff writer for the Issaquah High Times. Wu is a student representative to the Issaquah School Board for her high school, which is fueling her interest in policy and local government. In her role as student rep, Wu has reported to the board on district policies such as EL-11, and collaborated with her fellow student reps to present the possibility of a student advisory vote in order to give student voices more power in our district.
Wu is also part of senior class council in ASB this year, and is determined to plan for an amazing prom and continue bringing back excitement to her school community through events such as tailgates and unique spirit weeks. Outside of school, Wu can be seen reading stressful fiction novels to escape the stress of real life, and frantically catching up on birthday gifts for friends. Her music taste is diverse, with current obsessions being Hozier and Sarah Kinsley. She likes to think of herself as “cultured” due to her wide range of exposure to shows, books, and movies such as Lord of the Rings, Avatar the Last Airbender, Heartstopper, Shadow and Bone, and Arcane. She is excited for the new Disney and Netflix sequels coming out in the next few months, which she will be binging after college apps
