Kelsi Lo, Staff Writer
Outside of attending Issaquah High School, Kelsi wears many hats: debater, editor, artist, and singer. She is the co-founder and co-editor in chief at the Prekend, a student-run newsletter. She is passionate about debate and public policy with notable achievements such as quaterfinaling in various parliamentary debate tournaments, championing La Costa Worlds Schools Debate in 2023, and studying advocacy in public policy at the School of the New York Times. Additionally she has sung for the Los Angeles Children’s Choir and participated in concerts with John Williams and the LA Philharmonic. She was born in New York and has lived in Los Angeles and Taiwan prior to arriving in Washington state. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and experiment with new mediums of art. She hopes to use journalism as a tool to empower and inspire other young writers and highlight stories of marginalized communities. She hopes to make an impactful voice for herself and make positive change on the world around her.
