Artem Babayan is a 9th grader who does Cross Country, Swimming, and Track at Issaquah High School. Artem enjoys drawing, painting, and going on walks in his free time. Art has been a great passion for him, and he has been a fan of doodling since kindergarten, regardless of “Art” being in his name. Ever since he was a kid, he has been obsessed with comics and graphic novels. Ever since his obsession with drawing and illustration came to him, he tried to create a graphic novel in fifth grade with paper, a stapler, and some curiosity, where he would go around asking his classmates their opinions! He would love to open up his own art museum one day, showing off and potentially selling his art pieces!

Artem has three brothers running around the house. Two younger brothers and one older brother, who is a junior at Issaquah High School. Ever since Artem had been paying more attention to nature, he started to become very excited about September and October, with all the leaves turning all sorts of different colors. Cats over dogs any day. The hype on dogs needs to simmer down just a tad bit. If you were to ask Artem, “Lying in bed, or hanging out with your friends?” He would choose hanging out with his friends, since he lies in bed every day. This is his first time taking a class dedicated to writing, and he would love to see what’s going to happen this year! His main goal in journalism is to improve his writing skills and to focus more on writing in the future.
