Freezing Temperatures Freeze into the US

On Monday, Nov. 11 in Chicago, numerous flights were canceled due to an icy mass moving into the area. As much as 6 inches of snowfall occurred over one day, causing an Envoy Air flight from Greensboro, North Carolina, to slide off of a slippery runway at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago. According to the city’s aviation department, none of the passengers or crew members on board were harmed or injured. More than five hundred flights have been canceled at Chicago’s airports. In addition to air-travel stoppages, several schools in the area have been temporarily closed due to the abundance of snow, causing hazardous streets. The National Weather Services have announced a freeze alert. It is the middle of November and Chicago can expect frequent temperature drops ahead and a lot more snow.
