“Red Dead Redemption 2,” the follow up and prequel to the initial game made in 2010, “Red Dead Redemption,” was recently released to the public and it was by far the most anticipated video game of 2018. In fact, it was the most pre-ordered game of all time on the PS4 and had the largest opening weekend in the history of games, selling over $725 million worth of copies on available consoles, Xbox and Playstation. The reactions to it have been extremely positive as well, with most people absolutely adoring everything about it, especially its immensely immersive layout that makes you feel like you are truly a part of the time period.

Currently, the multiplayer aspect, where you can interact with other, real people who are playing in the same open world as you, is not available to the public. It is still in development and it is unknown when it will become integrated within the game, but “Rockstar Games” provided a brilliant storyline for you to start out playing with. The storyline opens as you are introduced to the main character, the person you are controlling throughout the adventure, Arthur Morgan. The plot of your venture as Mr. Morgan begins slow and seems slightly confusing for the average player. But after moving through the initial stages, the game opens up to a limitless, free-roaming world. In this world, the scenery is incredible, mimicking the open land and small, rustic towns that covered the plains of the Wild West. In addition to the jaw-dropping graphics, you are provided with an abundance of possibilities when playing through the campaign. Whether you want to be a traditional outlaw or be a man of the law, you have an opportunity to choose your path as you traverse the map. Additionally, if you choose to be an outlaw, the virtual world will treat you like one, as a bounty is placed on your head for heinous acts and law enforcement chases you down. The customization that is available for use is also a great feature of the game. For example, when choosing a horse to ride for your journey you have the ability to choose your breed of horse, what saddle you equip, what spurs you use and much more. If that is not impressive enough, you have the option to go fishing, hunt game, interact with the surrounding characters, rob scheduled trains and far more in the Wild West.

The entire game, excluding the non-released multiplayer mode, is like an incredibly long movie, but instead of watching the whole time, you have the ability to impact the story and choose how you would like to complete it. It is the perfect integration of gameplay and cinematics to complete a nearly flawless game, making it well worth the $70 even before multiplayer release. Whether you are a fan of the first part of the video game series or someone who has not even played a game made by “Rockstar Games,” this new publication is a must buy.
