The Accomplishments of Sir Arthur’s Sherlock Holmes
October 22, 2018
“The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.” Sherlock Holmes written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has been a great blockbuster novel around the world. Sherlock Holmes is a special character as he collects little details and clues which together in a way link the cases we generally never expect like In the book “The Hound of The Baskervilles” we never expected the killer would be Mr and Mrs Stapelton who were part of the family of the victims. The story and his investigation make people get involved with the story and guess the next part of the story like in the book “The Sign of Four” when Sherlock investigates the case of a murder when the door is locked, it made me guess that it may be from a room above connected to the victims room.
Doyle had such a creativity while writing the story as he made Sherlock Holmes a real character. Not even Conan Doyle could have imagined just how long his fictional character outlive him. Holmes is the arguably the most famous fictional character for the past two centuries, rivaled only by Dracula, James Bond, Batman and Harry Potter as the decades pass on.
In the book “The Scandal of Bohemia” Sherlock Holmes was given to solve the dispute between the king of Bohemia and Irene Adler, the king’s ex-girlfriend. The book has a nice story and a great twist. At the starting Sherlock Holmes had a nice sketch and later on at the end Irene Adler vanquished Sherlock Holmes by conquering his plans. This amused me.
In the book “The speckled Band” the book was filled with mystery and surprise. It made me to hold my breath till the end. The way Sherlock Holmes solved the case was unexpected.
This is a book that shows how Sherlock Holmes and Watson value their friendship. Though Sherlock Holmes and Watson were fictional characters, they don’t seem to be like that when we read the novel. Doyle had killed Sherlock Holmes in the story “Final Problem.” But because of the public demand he had to make Sherlock Holmes return in the story “Hound of the Baskervilles.” In the Book “the Hound of Baskervilles” Sherlock Holmes exceptionally played his part and saved the victim of getting murdered. Doyle’s series from books of Sherlock Holmes were exceptionally good. Sherlock Holmes may have retired in the book but still lives in many hearts.
