On March 8, glam pop artist Haley Reinhart dropped a dazzling single “Honey, There’s the Door” from her upcoming fourth album “Lo-Fi Soul” which will be released March 27. Since coming in third place on the tenth season of American Idol, Reinhart has been working hard in the music scene helping with many philanthropic efforts in between recording her albums. Her last album, “What’s that Sound?” released two years ago in September, was not that big of a hit, only getting to 67 on the Billboard charts. But Reinhart has the chance to change that with this next album that has a lot of potential.

A music video released along with the video shows the 28-year-old dressed in vintage outfits to match the old-timey feel of the song. With glamorous dresses, curlers, and red lipstick, Reinhart is reminiscent of Doris Day, totally rocking the fifties theme with a song that does not chase trends but rather goes in its own direction.

After absolutely loving her beautiful rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” I was really excited to hear her shine on this track. With her soulful, honey-filled voice, I was not disappointed. While her sweet melodies and soft notes are not particularly to my tastes, I can get behind her message of self-worth and love. Not only does Reinhart not need a man who does not value her for how awesome she is, she has no interest in keeping around someone who does not appreciate her. My favorite line from the song, “Treat me like the star of your show,” really sums up the whole song. If you do not appreciate her, you do not deserve her, and she will find someone who does.

The song has only received good feedback on Twitter where fans are quoting their favorite lines from the song and expressing their excitement for the release of “Lo-Fi Soul.”

I probably would not seek out more of her music, but Reinhart has released a good song with a strong message.
